Early in December the ATF issued a guidance on stabilizing brace devices. In response, Firearms Policy Coalition released a memorandum stating that the “NFA is an unconstitutional infringement of the People’s rights, that the ATF should be abolished, and that any policy of practice enforcing the Act is unconstitutional and immoral”
Incidentally, the ATF ended up withdrawing the guidance “pending further DOJ review”. While this is good news for the time being, it doesn’t remove the threat that they could potentially take a different and possibly far more aggressive approach in the future.
