2022 Award Winners!
Elected Official of the Year 2022 Award – Sheriff Chad Bianco: Sheriff Bianco was the driving force behind bringing a successful CCW unit to Riverside County. His re-election in June has guaranteed the Second Amendment community in Riverside County a competent and passionate CCW program through 2026.
Media Host of the Year 2022 Award – Phillip Naman: Phil strives to inform the Second Amendment community of everything Firearms Related within the community through his weekly radio show Firing Line Radio.
Range of the Year 2022 Award – Riverside Indoor Shooting Range: Tom and his gang at RISR have always been there whenever IEGO has needed them. From providing tonight’s Range Simulator, to opening their doors 2 hours early to accommodate our shooting socials, and never saying No when we need a meeting location.
Gun Shop of the Year 2022 Award – Blue Collar Firearms: Trisha and her team at Blue Collar are a huge part of IEGO, Not only is Trisha an Advisory Board Member, but she is always willing to step in and step up, providing information to unusual questions, meeting space or help with incentives and promotions
In The Fight Award 2022 – Firearms Policy Coalition: For fighting to regain and retain our second amendment rights and for rolling up their sleeves and getting down into the trenches of legal battles to achieve that goal. Accepting the Award for FPC will be Michael Schwartz.
Board Member of the Year 2022 Award – Shane Regan: Shane has been instrumental in the advancement of training and safety within IEGO, our members and the Second Amendment community by volunteering his time and knowledge of firearms and self-defense. Shane offers his courses at a reduced (and often, no cost) to IEGO members, he has also stepped up and taken over running our Shooting Social events and mentors.
Volunteer of the Year 2022 Award – Michael Cooke: Mike has been a huge asset to IEGO. He single-handedly runs the IEGO outreach program, scheduling all the tabletops & gun shows every quarter, wrangling all of the tabletop volunteers, tracking their time and making sure Shane knows every time a volunteer qualifies for additional training courses. Without his diligent efforts we would not be where we are today in membership growth.

Blog: Behind the Gun Counter: Distributors
By Sam Lichtman
On this day before a midterm election, I thought I’d give everyone a break from the political commentary and address a lighter topic: gun stores. If you’re reading this, you most likely already have a favorite place to buy parts, accessories, ammunition, and complete firearms. Maybe you have friends who work there, maybe you just shop there because it has the best prices in town, perhaps it’s the most convenient option because it’s on your way home from work. Whatever the reason, you’ve shopped there enough times that you’re on first-name basis with the clerk and you already know where to find magazines for a CZ 75 despite not owning one.
I’ve worked in my local gun store since May of 2019; in that time, I’ve picked up more than a few pieces of interesting information that even many firearm enthusiasts may not know. In the interest of entertaining readers, I’ll step off the soapbox once in a while and share some tidbits from the past three and a half years spent behind the counter. Hopefully you’ll find some of them useful, or at the very least, fun to read.

Become a #NotMeIE Ambassador
The #NotMeIE program is a mentor/mentee referral service run by women for women to help them:
Obtain firearms training
Get assistance in choosing and purchasing a firearm
Obtain a CCW
How does the program work?
A potential client can fill out the application for service on our website. Once received, the project manager reviews the application and assigns the client to an Ambassador. An Ambassador then contacts the client to begin the process of walking them through whatever their firearm needs are. After the client has been successfully helped, their case is closed, and the Ambassador is given a new client to work with. Some of our Ambassadors are also NRA certified trainers. They are very knowledgeable in all aspects of firearms training and purchasing. IEGO also offers an online CCW seminar once a month. Check the IEGO website for upcoming dates. If you are an experienced gun owner and are interested in becoming an Ambassador for the #NotMeIE program please reach out to Karla at [email protected]
