Throwback Blog: Small Wins – The Fight for the Second Amendment
By Joe Drammissi
Sometimes being a Second Amendment (2A) advocate in California can be discouraging. The seemingly endless string of new gun control laws, disinformation, and ever-increasing infringement upon basic rights can, at times, make staying positive a challenge.
Occasionally we forget that the 2A is alive and well throughout most of Free America and its only in a handful of backward states that our 2A rights have suffered significantly.
One way to stay positive is to focus on the small wins that are accomplished daily in California by patriotic individuals who’ve decided to join the fight. It is through the small wins that normal Americans will eventually succeed in not only restoring and protecting the 2A but in preserving all the rights guaranteed by the Constitution.
Lots of women are buying guns and learning how to use them, becoming the fastest growing group of gun owners over the past several years. Listen to the women leaders in the Second Amendment community! Dakota Adelphia, from a Girl and a Gun, and Audrey Mason from San Diego Off-Road Coalition stop by to talk about their organizations. Heather Hawke, Executive Director of Orange County Gun Owners also joined the show to share progress happening up in Orange County.

Become a #NotMeIE Ambassador
The #NotMeIE program is a mentor/mentee referral service run by women for women to help them:
Obtain firearms training
Get assistance in choosing and purchasing a firearm
Obtain a CCW
How does the program work?
A potential client can fill out the application for service on our website. Once received, the project manager reviews the application and assigns the client to an Ambassador. An Ambassador then contacts the client to begin the process of walking them through whatever their firearm needs are. After the client has been successfully helped, their case is closed, and the Ambassador is given a new client to work with. Some of our Ambassadors are also NRA certified trainers. They are very knowledgeable in all aspects of firearms training and purchasing. IEGO also offers an online CCW seminar once a month. Check the IEGO website for upcoming dates. If you are an experienced gun owner and are interested in becoming an Ambassador for the #NotMeIE program please reach out to Karla at [email protected]
