November is right around the corner! Do you have any local candidates you want us to endorse or are you a candidate?
Endorsing candidates is an important part of the political process and is a big step towards Inland Empire Gun Owners goal of electing only people who respect our Second Amendment rights.
For IEGO, every day is election season and the next election is always right around the corner. IEGO is a unique political organization because we focus entirely on local Second Amendment issues. Because we are unique, it is important to understand the specifics of who, how, and why we endorse.
IEGO endorses only county and city level candidates. We do not endorse state or federal candidates because other organizations do a great job already and we do not want to duplicate efforts. We only endorse candidates for City Council, School Board, County Board of Supervisors, Sheriff, and other local boards like water, fire, etc.
IEGO’s Criteria for Endorsements:
1. The candidate’s stance on the Second Amendment and Second Amendment issues. Does the candidate oppose gun bans, ammunition registration, and accessory bans? Does the candidate support issuing carry permits for the purpose of self-defense? And will the candidate do more than just say they support the Second Amendment? We want to support people who will actively work to protect and restore our Second Amendment rights.
2. The viability of the candidate’s campaign. By endorsing a candidate, we are asking our members and supporters to donate money and time to their campaign. Our endorsement is not just a voting guide. We will not ask our members to give time and money to a candidate who does not have the proper infrastructure in place to win or has not done enough to raise the money needed to get their message to voters.
3. The candidate’s character. Even if a candidate is pro-Second Amendment and has a viable campaign, if they have done something that is serious and verifiable to prove they do not have the character to hold public office, we will not endorse. How can we trust a candidate to do the right thing on the Second Amendment if they cannot do the right thing personally or professionally?
If you have a favorite local candidate or are a candidate, please contact us or email us at [email protected] We want to make sure candidates get our questionnaire and meet with each candidate. Once a candidate is endorsed, IEGO will encourage our members to volunteer for and donate to endorsed candidates. IEGO spends money on behalf of our endorsed candidates to make sure their voters vote for them.
Opinion: Regardless of Politics, the Leak of California Gun Owners’ Personal Data Was Wrong!
By: Michael Schwartz
Regardless of your political views or your opinion of the Second Amendment or what you think of gun owners, the recent violation of personal privacy by the California Attorney General should disturb and alarm you.
You may have missed hearing about this because the news media didn’t prioritize its seriousness. Here’s what happened: In June, Rob Bonta‘s office made public a variety of personal information on hundreds of thousands of Californians who hold concealed weapons permits.
On a publicly accessible government Firearms Dashboard Portal, the attorney general’s office leaked personal data of state residents who had applied for and were granted a concealed-carry weapons permit in California over the past decade, from 2011 to 2021.
Blog: Defeated! SB 918 and California CCW Revisited – The people of California dodged a bullet due to the greed of anti-2A legislators
By Joe Drammissi
SB 918 failed. SB 918 was the response of Governor Newsom and California anti-2A legislators to the US Supreme Court (SCOTUS) decision in the NYSRPA vs Bruen case. SCOTUS confirmed the right of a law-abiding citizen to carry a firearm in public for self-protection was indeed protected by the Second Amendment (2A). SB 918 would have made it impossible for a citizen with a CCW to legally carry a firearm almost anywhere in the state. I first wrote about it here.
One might be tempted to say that the defeat of this unconstitutional bill represented a ray of hope to the oppressed Americans unfortunate enough to live in California. This defeat might mean that there are still enough men and women in Sacramento with enough integrity to vote no on such a blatantly harmful piece of legislation. One might be tempted.

Become a #NotMeIE Ambassador
The #NotMeIE program is a mentor/mentee referral service run by women for women to help them:
Obtain firearms training
Get assistance in choosing and purchasing a firearm
Obtain a CCW
How does the program work?
A potential client can fill out the application for service on our website. Once received, the project manager reviews the application and assigns the client to an Ambassador. An Ambassador then contacts the client to begin the process of walking them through whatever their firearm needs are. After the client has been successfully helped, their case is closed, and the Ambassador is given a new client to work with. Some of our Ambassadors are also NRA certified trainers. They are very knowledgeable in all aspects of firearms training and purchasing. IEGO also offers an online CCW seminar once a month. Check the IEGO website for upcoming dates. If you are an experienced gun owner and are interested in becoming an Ambassador for the #NotMeIE program please reach out to Karla at [email protected]
